Stressed out due to work and living the toxic life in the metro? Looking forward to unwind, aren’t you? Why don’t you try paying Philippines a visit?
Our country is known as a tropical paradise boasting pristine beaches and incredible landscapes. We have the renowned Boracay which was declared as one of the best in the world, the longest island to island zipline in Mindoro and the Underground River which was marked as one of the 7 Wonders of the World.
I’ll let you in on my little secret though. As a beach lover, I always look forward to visiting the untouched and hidden gems of my country. Below are my top picks as a must-visit-place if ever you’ll find yourself here in the Philippines.
Baler, Aurora
Baler is known as the surfing capital of the Northern Philippines. Facing the Pacific which is known for its treacherous waves, this is definitely a paradise for thrill seekers.
Surfing wasn’t easy though. With the waves looking mean, staying balanced on board was a lot tougher than I thought.
Aside from surfing, there are other things you can do in Baler— explore the history of the place by visiting their museum, hike ‘til you reach the famous Mother Falls or see the remarkable Century Tree.
Port Barton, Palawan
Port Barton used to be the best “spot” for Tourists before El Nido went mainstream. Upon seeing the place, I knew that it’s going to be one the best vacation ever.
The untouched paradise of Port Barton is just the perfect place to unwind. The salty breeze coming from the sea and dining at the beachside with moon shining down on us is just overwhelming.
El Nido, Palawan
The best beach I’ve ever been to. El Nido is definitely a tropical haven that travellers would wish to go to.
Don’t ever forget to include the island hopping activity in your itinerary or else you’ll regret not seeing for yourself the amazing lagoons and the famous secret beach.
Coron, Palawan
This place comes next after El Nido. The towering limestone cliffs of Coron will definitely catch your attention.
Don’t miss the chance to see the cleanest lake in Asia, the Kayangan Lake. The water is so clear to the point that you can see the bottom part of the lake which is around 30 ft. deep!
Apo Reef, Occidental Mindoro
Apo Reef is the world’s second largest contiguous coral reef system and the largest in the Philippines.
The rich marine life will keep you underwater snapping pictures! Don’t be surprise though, there’s no source of clean water or electricity in the island! But those are the criteria for a great adventure, right?
Calaguas, Camarines Norte
Outlying Beaches are a-must-go destination for every Travelers and Beach Bummers; getting the privilege to witness its unscathed and natural beauty before it becomes too mainstream.
Riding the waves of the Pacific for 2 hours awaits a paradise packaged with fine creamy sand and glistening water.
Biri, Northern Samar
Braving the waters of San Bernardino Strait lies an untouched gem which I’m sure will keep you bounded and in awe due to its captivating beauty.
They may not have the best beach but they boast the best rock formations I’ve ever seen! Not to mention their natural tidal pools where you can swim all day long!
